This policy explains how EsseDigital Pte. Ltd. (“EsseDigital”, “we”) collects, uses and protects personal data through this website, gobackline.ai, in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
It covers this website only. Data that merchants process through the Backline product is governed by their agreement with us. See Security & Data.
1. What we collect
When you send us a demo request from the Book a demo form, we collect:
- your name, company, role and work email
- your phone number, if you choose to give it
- your number of outlets and current POS
- anything you write in the message field
- your email address and anything else in the email you send
If you message us on WhatsApp using the button on this site, we receive your name, phone number and the messages you send. WhatsApp handles these messages under its own terms and privacy policy.
We don’t ask for sensitive personal data, and we ask you not to include it in the message field.
2. Why we collect it
We use these details only to:
- respond to your demo request and arrange the demo
- prepare a quote based on your setup
- follow up about Backline, if you’ve agreed to that
We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
3. Who we share it with
- Demo requests: the form doesn’t send anything itself. It opens your own email app with your details filled in, and they reach us only if you press Send.

- We don’t share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps to make sure your data gets protection comparable to the PDPA. [TODO: legal to confirm wording]
4. How long we keep it
We keep demo-request details for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and for no longer than [TODO: retention period, e.g. 24 months] after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer.
5. Analytics and cookies
